Amy Butler Weekender Bag

Decided to make a bag.....and I hate making them, so wonder if this will get finished.  Inspired by Nicky when I saw hers which is just lovely. This is an Amy Butler bag, but did it as a quilt as you go project.  Still need to put it together so that may get done (or some) this weekend.

These are the bags Nicky made - the aqua one she kept for herself and gave the other one away.

Easter is over

Well my 4 days of sewing has come to an end.........but I'm happy to say that I'm about half way thru the quilt.  It probably won't make it to our bed this year but I'll keep plodding away when I can.  Got 30 units done.....10 Blocks.

Easter Day 2

Another great day sewing and watching The Quilt Show.  Emergency trip to town first thing this morning to get speakers for the laptop........the sewing machine noise is too loud and I miss a lot of what is being said on the shows.  So now set up with speakers and they work great. 

And with the quilt shop  just across the road I just had to get a couple more bits for the quilt.

 This quilt sure is slow going......two days of sewing and I have only done 18 units.

Easter Sewing

Easter is here once again.  I'm having a lovely sewing weekend and have many hours of quilting videos to keep me company.  So I get to spend the weekend with Alex and Ricky and the many wonderful, talanted guests they have on.  Sometimes I have to stop and watch some interesting bits but  that's OK. 

Working on my Judy Niemeyer Stepping Stones quilt.  The rate I have been sewing it up till now it would probably take me four years to complete it, but 4 days of sewing will see many blocks done.  Then again it's pretty slow going, I only completed 7 units in 5 hours today.

 Haven't seen any quilt alongs going on this weekend but will keep looking. Time to do some boring things like washing etc.  But a good start to the long weekend.

Another one

Got the brown one laid out in rows so I can just sew when I get the time.  Changed a couple of blocks around but not sure if I like it that way or not.

 

Started to get the second one together so I can also get it into rows to sew.  Easier to do it while I have the time and then just sew the rows together when I get time.  I found a Layer Cake I had forgotten I bought and it's just lovely -  Hubba Hubba from Me and My Sister Designs.  They sure do nice fabric, love their colours.  Just put it up like this to see the colours.  Still have the other side pieces to sew on and then recut.  Hopefully I will have both of these sewn together by next weekend.

New Quilt

I quilted one of these for a friend and just couldn't resist making one also.  So put the Stepping Stones aside for a while and started on Christmas Quilts for family.  It's going to be pretty wild as I've used lots of jungle and animal prints but was determined to only sew out of my stash (apart from "borrowing" some black squares as I have run out of blacks).  And I can't even see where I have been in the stash.

Stepping Stones has been put aside for the time being but I did cut up the new batiks for it and they are patiently waiting in the background.

I can't resist a new quilt.  Wish I could but that's life.  Started this one by Judy Niemeyer and doing it all in Batiks.  It's looking yummy already and I get it done in bits and pieces.  I have it set up at the machine and if I have a few minutes I sew another piece on.  I think I have about 7 blocks done.
