2016 FAL Numer 8

My final quilt for this quarter 2016 FAL is a two colour quilt.  Have had the fabric for years and years with the intention of making a red and white quilt.  Well I'm happy  with the quilt but disappointed I did a panto, it really should have been custome.  So may have to make another so I can quilt it a little better.

Finished size is 72"  x 72"

Swoon Block 2

Well got another one done.  Have a couple cut out but had visitors for the weekend so not too much sewing this Easter.  This quilt sure will be a little wild.

Swoon

Well finally started Swoon quilt.  Have been wanting to make it for ages and finally got some fabric last weekend.  Boy it's a bit out there!  Reminds me of the hippie days and the 70's.  Not sure that directional green was a wish choice, but oh well it's done now.  So only 8 to go.  Realised today that this time last year I spent Easter sewing my spiky quilt......and surprise surprise it all finished quilted and bound.

New project

Well as usual once the year gets back into swing my sewing time just goes to pot.  I did go to a craft show last weekend and managed to buy some fabric.....really needed to fill in some spaces.  Tee Hee.

 

Have been wanting to make Swoon for a while so found these beauties for it.

 

These because I love brown and black and batiks.

 

These for some really strong brights.

 

And these because they are just lovely.

This weeks achievements

 

Very happy to finish three quilts this week.....that brings me to seven YES SEVEN quilts for this year.  Wow has been many, many years since I did that.  So have a binding to sew on for the next one and hope to start that tonight, but first I may go make a couple of tiny, tiny nine patches for Circa 2016.

2016 FAL Numer 7

 

Last quilt I finished is Marbled Hearts.  This one seems to glow - made around 1997 and finally finished!  My 7th for the 2016 FAL

Next finished was this just beautiful Pineapple quilt.  This was made around 2000.  I just love the border fabric and the fussy cutting.  My 6th for 2016 FAL
